2019 – Meetings with the Holy See and its Dicasteries

From 24 to 27 June, the AMI Executive Committee met with the main representatives of the Holy See to report on the activities carried out during the last year and on the results achieved following the definition of the strategic plan (AMI Strategic Plan) and the consequent actions necessary to achieve it (Action Plan). Moreover, during all the meetings, it was highlighted the recent signing of the contract for the creation of an AMI Application for smartphones on the basis of the existing application called Tweeting with God.AMI EC had the opportunity to meet Cardinal Parolin, Vatican Secretary of State, to whom it presented all the progress made and the potential of the association as Strategic Advicor for all the Dicasteries of the Holy See.

The other meetings were held with Cardinal Turkson (Department of Integral Human Development), the Military Bishop for Italy, Mons. Santo Marcianò, Father Giulio Cerchietti (point of contact between the military chaplains and the Vatican) and Father Awi Mello, Secretary of the Department for Family, Life and the Laity.

Besides, AMI EC followed a workshop on the Pharmaceutical Counter initiative for the distribution of medicines in the principal Theater of Operation of Italian Armed Forces with the participation of our Deputy Secretary General, Cpt. Mario Ciccotti. 

In short, it was an intense five-day period, full of positive feedback and which led AMI to consolidate its already excellent links with the aforementioned Departments.
