From 26-29 June 2022, the International Conference of Military Bishops took place in Vienna on the invitation of Military Bishop Werner Freistetter to discuss and exchange views on the topics of the ‘war in Ukraine’, the ‘Covid pandemic’ and ‘migration’.
After two years of postponement due to the pandemic situation, the conference was attended by the Archbishop of Spain, the military bishops of Argentina, France, the Netherlands, Slovakia and Venezuela, the Vicars General and spiritual representatives of Belgium, Chile, Germany, Slovakia and the Vatican, as well as the President and Secretary General of AMI (Apostolat Militaire International).
The venues in Vienna were the Sala Terrena of the Vienna National Defence Academy, where Lieutenant General Erich Csitkovits, commander of the National Defence Academy, received the guests, and the military parish of the Vienna Military Command.
The conference was concluded with the wish to meet again next year in Vienna.
