AMI policies for the Prevention and Reporting of Sexual Abuse of Minors and Vulnerable Adults

This post is also available in: English Nederlands Italiano Deutsch Français Español

The very purpose of AMI is the support and encouragement of good actions among all military using the witness of faithful Catholics who live out their faith despite the rigors of military duty. As such, sexual abuse of any kind has no place in the AMI community and will not be tolerated or overlooked.

The AMI is a community made up completely of volunteers wich only gathers once each year at the pilgrimage to Lourdes, France, and later in the year, it gathers for the annual convention in a different country each year. Nevertheless, the AMI community will report any such abuse, consistent with all the appropriate national laws and Vatican/Holy See policies. Our Strategic Communications Liaisons (Mario Ciccotti and Sigrid Etschmaier) are the channel, listed on our web site, and are particularly suited to listen to any such accusations, with great respect to any injured party, and forward any credible claims to proper authorities consistent with Vatican/Holy See policies which respect the rights of any and all involved.

Because AMI has representatives from military organizations of many nations, but no direct responsibility of any kind over the internal workings of the organizations these delegates represent, AMI does indeed support and encourage the parallel good and respectful policies in all these other organizations in their various nations.
